Problem : Effluorescence (Formation of whitish film on surface especially in damp area.)
- Probable Causes :
- Soluble salt rising from within the floor or wall system with presence of moisture or water.
- Contaminated water or sand containing soluble salt.
- Free lime.
- Prevention :
- Use tiles with low water absorption value.
- Minimize moisture or passage of moisture through beds or joints.
- Compactly install a tight, dense grout joint.
- Ensure adequate underbed drainage.
